Metropolis is an upscale Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge in Brattleboro, Vermont featuring House-Infused Signature Cocktails, an extensive Wine List, Local Draft Beer & Tapas sized food. Owners, Alyssa Blittersdorf & Alan Blackwell invite you to experience all that Metropolis has to offer!

Metropolis wishes to bring something much needed to the rich community of Brattleboro. The Lounge is an upscale, respectable, and inviting wine bar to enjoy. Alan & Alyssa view it as a place to go when you wish to indulge and benefit from impressive flavors in a comfortable environment. Whether it’s a one-of-a-kind infused liquor concoction or a delicious tasty Tapas-sized treat, you’re guaranteed to be exposed to something new, exciting, and yummy. A good cocktail is something to be discerning about. Alan & Alyssa welcome you to come relax and take the time to truly enjoy the new Metropolis experience. Having both worked in the restaurant and bar industry for years, Alyssa and Alan have learned a great deal about both excellent service standards and human psychology. They both absolutely love fine food and good drinks. They want to create an environment where your stress can melt away with each sip and every bite. How nice is it to have a good drink after work? Alyssa & Alan think it’s more than nice, it’s necessary.

A Charlotte, Vermont born native, Alyssa Blittersdorf received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Alfred University in Western New York and has since been working in the food service industry for the past 3 years. She grew up with entrepreneurial parents and has always wanted to own her own business. While her graphic design creativity has helped to shape Metropolis’s new brand, her love for rich, good food went into forming the new Tapas menu.

Alan Blackwell, a born and raised Manhattan, New Yorker, considers himself a budding mixologist and brings his passion and energy to Brattleboro once more. Alan received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from SUNY Purchase, and has since worked in restaurants everywhere around Vermont and New York doing everything from serving and bartending to managing. He brings dedication and commitment to professionalism at the new Metropolis Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge.
